US Air Force and Costa Rican SVA Achieve Key Firsts During Joint Training Mission

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica (Jan. 2026) - 571 MSAS Air Advisors Master Sgt. Felipe Pent and Tech. Sgt. Lucas Gardona, demonstrate parachute rigging procedures to members of the Costa Rican Servicio de Vigilancia Aérea during a mobile training team engagement. The training marked the first time Costa Rican personnel received instruction on preparing aerial delivery bundles, establishing an organic capability to conduct humanitarian assistance and disaster response airdrop operations in support of regional security and USSOUTHCOM objectives.
